Happy Friday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! I got to spend mine with family and friends and I couldn’t have asked for a better way. Of course, the whole reason we celebrate Christmas is because God gave us the greatest gift of all, his son. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish buy have eternal life.” John 3:16. Our Christmas started out with Hubby and I going to a Christmas service at church, then to Mike’s family’s house to open presents and eat lunch, then my parent’s house for more presents and dinner, and then we had our friends over later that night. It was a really great day. Now onto some favorites I’ve been loving lately..
(1) This mug
I’m trying to hold onto Christmas just a little bit longer. I feel like Christmas just came and went extremely fast this year. I’m sad to see it go and I am not ready to take down my decorations yet, especially the tree! I plan on leaving everything up until after Russian Christmas, I don’t celebrate it but that’s usually around the time we took everything down when I lived with my parents so I am keeping that tradition alive. I am loving this mug thought and it’s totally helping me pretend it’s still Christmas. My lovely friend got it for me, and she goes “I thought this mug would be perfect for a blog picture!” :p She knows me too well, and I have to say she was right! Wouldn’t you agree?
Another voxbox I received from Influenster! If you use this link you can sign up to get complimentary full size products to test and review. Winter can be a really harsh time for your hair, but these new products from L’Oreal are for flake free winter hair! I highly recommend it if you deal with dry scalp. It’s also free of sulfates, salts, dye and parabens so you can’t go wrong with it. I was sent the micro exfoliating scrub, (which you use in wet hair before you shampoo and condition), shampoo and conditioner. They all work really well and my hair is looking and feeling gorgeous.
I made this holiday inspired cheese board when we had guests over and it was a big hit. You can never go wrong with a cheese board when hosting because there is something on there for everyone! We got the cheeseboard at Marshalls and filled it with yummy cheeses like, Brie, Havarti, Garlic & herb goat cheese, and Edam cheese. I also put some pepperoni and crackers on there. Then with the open spaces I added some garnish for a festive look (fresh sprigs of rosemary), grapes, and different types of nuts. It was delicious.
(4) Nikon d3400
If you follow me on instagram, you may know that my husband bought me a camera for Christmas! I have been wanting one for a little while now for my blog and also for the future when we start having kids, etc. Who knows, maybe I’ll even take up photography! ( That is a little dream of mine, I have a lot of little dreams :p ) I love this camera so much already and I can’t wait to learn how to use it!! If anyone has a DSLR camera and would like to offer me some tips in the comments below I would really appreciate it!
On Monday I went on a little road trip to Philly with Mike and some of my in-laws just as something to do. We did a lot of walking and sight seeing and I had a chance to test out my new camera! We got to see a lot of cool art, and eat some yummy chicken cheese steaks. Overall it was a fun trip.
Thanks for reading! I hope you have a great weekend. Ps. Can you believe it’s the last Friday of 2016?! I’m in total disbelief that New years eve is tomorrow! What are your plans??
